Bio/Description

Yazmin Feliz recently completed her postdoc in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University Medical Center, focusing on developing low-cost medical ultrasound imaging technology. As an NSF GRFP Fellow and National GEM Consortium Fellow, Yazmin has been actively pushing technology from the lab to market and supporting commercialization efforts for early-stage companies at Columbia University in conjunction with Columbia Tech Ventures. Yazmin completed a B.S. in Mathematics of Computation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and her M.S and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University. She has certifications in Supply Chain and Project management, with a background in leading consumer product reformulations and product lifecycle management at pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies in the United States and Latin America.

Yazmin is an Adjunct Instructor NSF I-CORPS Northeast Region and serves as Chief of Staff at Investors of Color Network, an investment group focused on diversifying startup capital. She sits on the investor panel for PitchForce, where BIPOC founders have an opportunity to network, and receive valuable advice from BIPOC Angel and VC investors. Yazmin has participated in the regional and national I-CORPS programs as an Entrepreneurial Lead and is actively involved in diversity student recruitment.
